SOAS Postgrad Students Organising Meeting: Defend Education

A group of SOAS PhD students are organising a meeting on 21st February, 6-8pm, aimed at SOAS postgraduate students but open to anyone interested in attending, in room FG05 at SOAS (ask SOAS reception for directions). The (working) title of the meeting is “SOAS Postgrad Students Organising Meeting: Defend Education”, and the focus will be on organising to understand how the cuts are going to affect SOAS, universities and society, and what we can do about it. We are inviting postgrad students from Cambridge who have been organising along similar lines to join us, as well as activists from the Education Activist Network, the National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts and the Really Open University.

It is worth noting here that one of the things the Cambridge group are doing is encouraging people to join the University and College Union (UCU), since membership is free for postgrads.

Please get in touch if you want to discuss this initiative further.

Cheers
